eruption prognosis for the Vesuvius of Wörlitz
Volcanoes don't sleep. They only do "mountain" their activity. Even in areas of evident silence eruptive surprises can occure at any moment. Due to interdisciplinary interpretations of current collected data and, after the successfull prognosis for ERUZIONE D'ARTE A STROMBOLI it is necessary to define a prognosis for another volcano.

According to scientific and cultural knowledge, one of the German volcanoes, since 18th century worldwide known as WUNDERFELSEN VON WÖRLITZ or FELSENINSEL STEIN, will fullfil its princely destination again for the first time in this millenium. At the end of august columns of smoke will be emitted, followed by periods of eruptions between september 1rst and 4th throughout the evening.

""The one and only artificial volcano in Europe is located on an island in the public park of Dessau-Wörlitz (UNESCO world heritage). It was built in the name of prince Leopold III. Friedrich Franz von Anhalt-Dessau from 1788 until 1794. All architectures together, the island with its grottos and veins, the volcano and the Villa Hamilton, were realized as memories of the prince's travel impressions of Italy. He intended to present to all visitors of his park in Wörlitz an imagination of the topography of Naples, of the shape of a volcano, of an antique theatre and as an example of contemporary italian architecture the famous Villa Hamilton." (press release by Kulturstiftung DessauWörlitz)

A burning question is bubbling on the expected outbreak both, threatening and hopefully: will this volcanic eruption in the middle of Germany be a crucial influence on the current national election for the House of Parliament? It has just became fact that it was not the breakin of a comet, which had fossilized the existence of dinosaurs and other creatures 65 million years ago, it was a very big breakout of a volcano.

VolcanismInTheArts has ordered an expedition to the WÖRLITZER VESUVIUS to explore the cultural seismic of its eruption period, to interpret it immediately and therefore be able in the case of emergency to alarm useful corrections.

More details of the eruption period itself and its cultural evaluations could be sympathized virtually on our website in the upcoming weeks.

Current details of the announced occurence are able to get straight from the volcano observatory of the WÖRLITZER VESUVIUS
